You Probably Don't Need a Big Software Rollout

You've probably sat through a sales pitch this year for a big construction platform. They want you to gut your process and move onto theirs. 40 years of product, various integrations, a 12-month rollout, a training burden on your field crews & office, and a big price tag that's increasing year over year.

Most businesses we work with can't say yes to that. They've got 5-10 PMs, an operations manager, and a yard guy who knows where everything actually is. No tech department. No extra time.

And they shouldn't have time for it.

The tools you already use work. The Google Sheet your foremen updates from the truck. The form your QC guy fills out at the end of the day. The PO log your PM & bookkeeper has been running since 2018. These tools just don't talk to each other (yet).

That's a smaller fix than the big platforms want you to believe.

Our first job is to learn how your people actually work. We learn it from your foremen, your PMs, your managers. Then we build small. One workflow at a time. A live inventory sheet that updates when material leaves the yard. An approval chain that runs in the background of an email you were already sending. A daily report that pulls from forms you were already filling out. A place where all your data connects & can be used to make live decisions easily.

Every step is paid for after you've seen it work in real time. Nothing custom is built on a guess.

We've built a lightweight work orders system that ingests the information submitted by a customer and gets it processed for cutting the panels for a shop. We've digitized field entry to ensure that a foreman can enter QC reports easily, and the office is notified & can track their approvals. None of it required a 12-month rollout or large yearly contract.

The big platforms have their place. If you're a 500-person GC running 100+ active jobs, buy the platform.

If you're a 20-150 person company with jobs in the hundred thousands or millions and a team drowning in paperwork & approvals, the platform is overkill. You'd spend more on the rollout than you'd ever recover.

Start with what you have. Connect it. Prove it. Build out from there.

That's what we do.
